Red Rocky Road - Go!
July 5, 2009
It was time to pack up again, and check out. I decided to visit the Red Rock Amphitheater, which was outside of Denver. It was a longer drive than I expected, as I drove out of the city and towards the mountains.
I arrived there, with the "entrance" being some red rock tunnel or bridge. Not sure how to describe it. But it looked unique. I went to the visitor center next, which basically had the history of concerts and movies that took place there. I'll will always remember the amphitheater as the starting and finish lines in the 9th season of The Amazing Race, the reality show of teams racing around the world. But no mention of that in the visitor center.
There was a film that I didn't bother watching, and I went out to see the amphitheater. I would enter from the top, and go all the way down. The steps were are very big, and hilly on a sharp incline. And being at high altitude, I would be out of breath quickly. There were people running up and down the place, working out. The stage was the bottom.
Then it was time to head north to Estes Park, a small town just near Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP).
