The weather up here has been cold, blistery and rainy for the past couple of days so when I saw the sun  come out and the skies clear this afternoon I decided to take my dog for a walk on Sears Island.  The island is only a five minute drive from my house and the road form begining to end is not very long and very easy to walk so i though it would be good for both of us.  It didnt take us very long to get to the other side of the island and when we reached the ocean we sat for while to rest on the white rocks on that sit just above the shoreline.  After about 30 minutes I decided to head back to the car, I didnt have any gear with me and the sun was going to be setting shortly.  We walked about 200 ft when my dog just layed down, at first it wasnt a problem and after about 10 minutes he got back up again (after some coaxing), we then started walking and made it about another 200 ft before he layed down again.

I called my house and had my little brother shake the taoster into the phone hoping the sound would motivate him to move but it didnt, so there we at untill he was ready to start walking again.  This happened two or three more times and then finally I had to call a freind for help.  I asked her if she had a wagon and if she could bring it down to Sears Island to resuce my dog.  By this time there was no more light in the sky and the wind had picked up, luckily my friend lives nearby and showed up quickly.  We loaded the dog into the wagon and wheeled him the rest of the way back to the car.  When we both started driving back she had called me on my cell to tell me the police had given her a parking ticket.

Well it turned out to be an intersting adventure but Im glad Im home because I really hate the cold and Sears Island at night is just creepy.
