Exploring the Maine Coast

While we were driving back from New Hampshire and my brothers (rdog980) suprise 30th birthday party we decided to make the short detour out to Bailey Island. My mother and father had come here just a few weeks prior and they thought I would enjoy the gift shop they had found and purchased me a pair of Puffin socks. A Puffin is a bird that looks like a cross between a penquin and a parrot, it has a colorful beak and a black and white body.
Hurrican Igor was moving up the coast so when we arrived on Bailey Island the waves were begining to look pretty fierce. I walked out onto the rocks to get some pictures of the waves and just explore. I have always had a facsination with tide pools so I tried to find some but we were up too high so there were none.
After walking around the rocks I headed into the lands end gift shop. It almost reminded me of Perry's Nut House, but without the different oddities. There were two floors, I believe the upstairs is a chirstmas shop; however I did not explore the upstairs because my knees and back were killing me from sleeping on a couch and being cramped in a car with 3 other adults and one very fat dog.
I walked around the bottom floor and purchased a few items that I didnt really need but decided I couldnt live without. After that I walked out to the car to grab the dog who was very upset he was left behind and I took him for a short walk in the grassy area.
When we began our drive back to the highway, we stopped to photograph an odd looing bridge in town. We couldnt stay to long on the bridge because of contruction so we just grabbed a pic or two before getting back to getting back home =)
