Dachau, expectedly, was a stirring stop. The first of the internment camps, it is located just outside the Munich center. The enormity of its historical significance is felt immediately upon viewing its still standing front gate with the famous inscription. We feel fortunate to live in a free country as we do. Walking its grounds reminds us of the current human rights abuses going on around the world as we speak. Mans inhumanity to man is difficult to understand.................
Munich was our stopping place, and we checked into the Domicil hotel in the surrounding community of Picceau. The next day we went into the city center and saw the cities sites including the Hoftbrauhaus, Olympic Park and Tower (1972), and the BMW Welt (world) exhibit. Munich is a very clean and modern city with a really good vibe. The Bavarian region would be easy to visit again.
