Random trip to Queenscliff

Historic Queenscliff

Quick facts

  • Population 1,967
  • 103 kilometres south-west of Melbourne
  • Historic restored buildings
  • Luxury seaside retreat
  • Village charm

As I was growing up, I've always heard of Queenscliff and also the Queenscliff-Sorrento ferry. We underestimated the distance so we didn't have enough time to leave the car in Queenscliff, head to Sorrento via ferry & then back. We'll definitely do that sometime. Queenscliff is full of history, I wasn't able to capture it all on camera. According to the travel brochures, it used to be a fishing village before it was transformed into a destination for Melbourne's elite (back in the 19th century).

The beaches are nice, as is standard at this part of Australia.... although I would prefer the beaches at Ocean Grove and Torquay. ^_-
