Drive from Phoenix to Crown King
Well we have a group meeting up at Crown King Arizona for camping and 4wheeler riding. The trip is not very far but the road to Crown King is quite crazy. Lots of zig zags, pot holes, washed out roads is what you will encounter and if its winter time you will have mud and snow, which if you don’t have a four wheel drive vehicle can be quite a challenge. It was only like 30 miles off the highway but took 2 hours to get there. I just have a 2 wheel drive truck and for the most part it was just bumpy, but as you get to the mountains there is snow and mud, the two bad things for a 2 wheel drive truck. I was able to make it thru the mud because I could just give it lots of gas and pray for the best. BUT.....the one section of snow got me, bumped off into the ditch and I was stuck. Needless to say I had to wait for someone to come by and hopefully be able to pull me out. Guess what there are some nice folks out there, for the most part the guys with the big 4 X 4 trucks really had fun pulling me out of the mud. I will admit I had fun spinning my tires trying to get out…haha. The trip was nice, lots of beautiful views for pictures and it was something different.
