Republic Square by day
Ever since last year since my visit in the Serbian capital, I’ve always wanted to come back and visit more that part of the world. What I love the most about Serbia is its people and Belgrade it’s a place I will always to love go back to. For its food, nightlife, culture, Kalemegdan, Knez Mihailova, Ada Ciganlija, The Sava and The Danube, the wee streets and endless coffee hours just to name a few.
So I was back in Beograd for the second time and checked in Hostel Central Station, where I stayed last year and it was great. Danny and his wife, the owners of the place were great company, we had a few drinks and recommended places to see around the city. Also I met Sanja, fellow TB, and her sister Milana and we had good times, went on Ada Ciganlija - an island on the Sava full of bars, pubs and sport facilities.
Ada Ciganlija
We had a few cranberry flavoured pints of beer and the day passed by in no time.
So this was pretty much my first day of the one week trip, and the next day I went to the train station to find a connection to Montenegro. I had 3 places in mind: the capital Podgorica, Budva and Kotor, with the last two towns located on the Adriatic Sea shore just south of Dubrovnik in Croatia.
The idea was to go from Belgrade to Podgorica then go south to Budva and from there a short trip to see the town of Kotor and then go back to Belgrade. Now on the map everything looked quite close to each other but when the guy at the bus station told me that a bus to from Belgrade to Budva would take around 10 hours not everything was so jolly anymore.

So I just got a direct round trip ticket from Belgrade - Budva - Belgrade, skipping Podgorica, and promising myself I wont miss Kotor as it was “a must see” place, being on the UNESCO Heritage List. Which of course I missed it later on…
Before leaving Belgrade around 9 PM, I logged on TravBuddy to see who’s living in Budva to get a tip on a good accommodation, so I found Sasha. Asked him about a place where I could stay in Budva and Sasha recommend a villa called Villa Bono, right in the centre of the town just about 200 meters away from the beach, a great place which was actually owned by… Sasha himself.
Black Turtle Pub
Good atmosphere and great music. They serve favoured beer and I fully recommend the blackcurrant one. Also you could try the Lemon and Cherry ones. They also have traditional Serbian drinks and of course tons of coffee (like anywhere in Belgrade). Everything at great rates.
