"Zadre, grad u moru" – "Zadar, city in the sea" is the title of a song dedicated to the dalmatian city Zadar, and it's just one of many. So, tune in at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=easbzqmyEPk (I don't own anything) and follow me ….

.... and one more special feast: The Millenium Jump

First things first: put on Van Halen's "Jump" (twice) and watch  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAC6Ey5m5mI (Again " I don't own anything). Ready?-  Go! See ya in 7:48 minutes….

Starting as an idea of a few young Zadarers, it became one of the town's biggest partys. In 2007 more than 1500 people jumped simultaneously into the sea from Zadar's Riva, in 2008 it was even more.  The idea was to promote Zadar's clean sea. Most coastal citys have a big problem with polluted sea, and Zadar managed to solve it a couple of years ago. Today, you can go for a swim anywhere on Zadar's coastline. The "Millenium Jump" celebrates this. It also has a humanitarian aim to it - the fees the participants pay go to a local charity. There are several jumps alltogether, the whole manifestation lasts from the late afternoon till long into the night. Between the jumps there's plenty of chances for having fun, it's a big open air concert with local bands, there's food and drink and games. And a lot of happy people!!!

NOTE: THE MILLENIUM JUMP 2009 IS TAKING PLACE ON SATURDAY JULY 25TH. You can register at the "dm-millenium-jump" stand from 7p.m. to 11p.m. on the main square in the old town . Have fun!!!!!
