Beautiful Sunrises in Tucson (06/29/2009)
Today is Tuesday, July 21, 2009 - I woke up to watch the sunrise. The sun arose at 5:21 a.m. here in Tucson: a restless and sleepless night made it possible for me to leave my bed at 4:00 a.m. this morning. I made a cup of tea and watched the news on CNN and BBC to see what is going on around the globe (too much blood shed). I decided I needed some fresh air at about 5:10 a.m. so I left the comfort of my apartment and went to the swimming pool where I sat for about 5 minutes and an appealing thought occurred to me, the sun would soon be rising. I immediately got up and went back upstairs, grabbed my camera and went down across the road about 300 yards from whence I could see the top of Mt. Lemmon.
The clouds swirled in acceptance of the changing of the colours created by the sun's beams beyond the mountains. The colour quickly changed from a gray-blue and white shade to a dirty yellow and finally a glowing orange/red burning colour. It was absolutely breath taking, I wish I had a better vantage point than the cross streets, I guess I could have driven up the road or north towards Tanque Verde to get a better view. I just might do so tomorrow if I feel up to it. I saw the sun rising yeah! I have been meaning to see sunrises but never really took the time to wake up early enough to wait for it.
Sunrise in Tucson: Taken at 5:37 a.m. on Wednesday July 22, 2009
Today is Wednesday, July 22, 2009: I caught another sunrise today, brilliant. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. as it has been for the past week and heard the birds chirping in the trees, it felt so good to peep outside and see the darkness in the wee hours.
Another thirty minutes and the sky light began to change, but the dust in the air created such a haziness it was like a mist over mount Lemmon. I made coffee and toasted bread, nothing I cared for but I needed to fill up my tummy, the fresh coffee woke me up good. At 5:15 I stepped out of my apartment and went across the road to catch t he sunrise, unfortunately the dust cloud made it hard to see the sun. The orange glow began to grow bigger with each passing minute, I then decided to go back to my apartment, got my car keys and headed up 22nd street, up to Goflinks and onto Alvernon way south from where I got beautiful shots of the morning sun, it was so inspiring seeing the sun fill the morning sky.
