Inside Siam Paragon
Our train to Surat Thani
wasn't until 6pm so we spent the day at Siam Paragon, looking for something, anything! LOL We had our last meal at Piri Piri (which I think is Nando's), we were happy with the prices until we saw they added an extra 17% to our bill. *sigh*
Made our way back to the hotel, had a foot massage outside the hotel. At around 4, we checked out & took a taxi to Hualam Phong Station. We got there in 15 minutes! (WTF happened to the so-called traffic?!) We then enquired how we were going to get to Phuket
from Surat Thani. We were advised to take a bus because it's safer. We went to a travel agent, she told us we would be getting a van, a driver with our name will be waiting for us when we arrive at Surat Thani.
We paid 750 baht. It wasn't until we arrived in Surat Thani that we realized there was no van & driver waiting for us, we showed our receipt to one of the people standing outside and we were told to wait for the bus that doesn't arrive until 8am. She thought there were three of us travelling since our receipt showed 750 baht, I said no there's only 2 of us. She said we've been conned/overcharged. We weren't happy about that but was beyong caring because all we cared about now was getting back to Australia. The bus ride to Phuket took another 4 hours, upon arrival in Phuket Town, we hired a taxi to Phuket Airport. We stayed in Phuket Airport for nearly 24 hours. Yes, we slept overnight. We found a corner, rolled our bags there and tried sleeping on the carpeted floor, to no avail. So we tried joining two seats together and still couldn't sleep.
