Early morning Phuket's Beach Road is so quiet.
Had a whole day to relax before we went to Phuket Fantasea. Walked around Beach Road, tried haggling for bargains to no avail. Only managed to buy seashell necklaces for each of us. Went back to our hotel, got ready for the night. Our tour bus was surprisingly early in picking us up, we had to pick up two other groups then we made our way to Phuket Fantasea. Upon arrival, we were ushered to the ticket booth to pay for our tickets, at the same time marvelling over the prettiness of the place. So colorful! We bought one of those jelly candles, had our names painted on it, we also stopped by the Thai costume studio to have our photos done. It was quite expensive, 1,300 Baht ($61AUD) for 5 photos but I think it was worth it since we're only there once.
It didn't help that we were Asians, we were mistaken for people that worked there while we were in costume - some tourists considered approaching us until I gave them a look that said, "Not a chance!" LOL. The buffet restaurant was so huge, it could be mistaken for a wedding reception venue - it could easily sit 1,000+ people. The food were quite average, the only thing nice was the fried chicken and oh, the desserts/mini cakes too. It's too bad we couldn't bring our cameras inside the theatre, the show was breathtaking! We came in late (because of the photo shoot) so we didn't really know what the story was about. The elephants may have been the star of the show but for me, it was the running chickens that stole it. They were sooooo cute and funny, running around like that. I couldn't stop laughing, I still have to suppress a giggle whenever I think about that particular scene with the farm animals. Oh yeah, we also paid 800 baht to have our photo taken with a tiger cub, it was just soo adorable. I wish I could take one home!
