Inside our taxi from Phuket Airport to the Hotel
The flight from Melb-BKK wasn't that good; only because there was no TV in front of me and they only showed 1 movie before turning it off AND the guy I was sitting next to had bad breath and long legs. Ugh! We finally landed in Bangkok
airport, didn't realize how big it was. It took us more than 30mins to walk from the Int'l side to the Domestic. Being high season, seats were booked out so we weren't able to sit with each other on both flights (Melb-BKK & BKK - Phuket). We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Patong Beach
, which cost us 550 Baht ($26). We arrived at the hotel too early so we weren't able to check in. The hotel agreed to hold our bags for us while we killed time.

We walked the entire stretch of the main road, turned into Bangla Road where we had our first Thai meal at a restaurant frequented by foreigners, forgot the name of the place. I ordered Pad Thai and my friend ordered Chilli & Garlic prawns, we had fresh coconut juice. My meal costs 150b ($7), pretty cheap considering that most Thai restaurants in Melb charge $15+ for a pad thai. We then went to the new shopping centre, Jungceylon... pretty place, reminds me of Greenbelt (Makati, PH) although shopping was not as good. Booked our tours at a tour desk outside 7/11. Went back to the hotel & got ready for our Simon Cabaret tour. We had a seafood feast at the hawker stalls near our hotel, surprisingly yummy - had calamari, prawns & seafood fried rice and of course our trademark coconut juice. Anyway, the show was good at the start then it got repetitive & the parade of ladyboys for an hour got a little boring & irritating, couldn't wait to get out of there.
