again, wake up early (6 am) and drive on a more difficult road (long section with working in progress).
We are supposed to have american breakfast but we get boiled eggs, water, and some white chinese rolls. We eat croissants we brought from Italy to feel better.
We are now told we will reach an altitude of four thousand and seven meters (we think 4,700 m) and we start to worry. The guide says any heart problem? (I have one) we should have taken oxigen tanks (too late now)... well, he really meant 4,007 m, and we were there only few minutes on the way. wow!
We reach Huanglong, another beautiful spot with small lakes and colored salt deposits. It reminds me of Yellowstone.
We start to climb at 3,000 m. After 1 km walk on a steep incline I run out of breath and we decide to stop (there are 3 more Km to go). We are able enjoy great views anyway. On the way back, we cross chinese workers walking uphill with VERY heavy wooden poles.....
At the entrance we eat from street vendors delicious corn and small pizzas.
Again we reach and stop at the 4,007 m mark. beautiful views.
Later I get headache (low oxigen) for a short ime, then we reach a village and have lunch in a low-key local diner (toilet paper as napkins); I like yak meat which I have never had before.
Evening we catch a flight to Chengdu, get a connecting flight to Taiyuan without assistance and go to sleep at the Tayuan Grand Hotel - a good 4 star
