The road down the mountain isn’t exactly meant for pedestrians, but I manage to make it down to the next town at the bottom of the cliff all right.

Borgo Maggiore is a pleasant little historical village with a cable car ride up to the capital.  It feels a bit like an Italian village, but with the cliffs always dominating the skyline, and flags and other reminders about, you can’t forget that you’re in San Marino.

I reach a arched portico stretch with an antiques sale going on--  folk selling everything from World War II era newspapers to old houseware…

I continue on through the town to where I find something else that Borgo Maggiore should be famous for:  The Ugliest Church Design I’ver ever seen.  I’ve seen ugly churches, but not churches actually designed to look horrible.  This one has a roof of sheet metal, bent at all sorts of odd angles…

Down at the edge of town I find an open field where I take a clip with the cliffs and castles in the background--  doesn’t quite do the view justice…
