My final bus takes me to Gorebridge… the very edge of the Edinburgh metro area… Beyond there is just open countryside…

No audience here in Gorebridge--  just young teen asking if I can buy cigarettes for him…

I take a video clip right at the edge of the wilds… and another overlooking the typical Scottish stone and tan brick houses along Main Street… The old gray church with bright, blue doors I also find particularly charming…

From there I decide to hike on back to Newtongrange where I take another clip outside the old mining museum… and head on back to Edinburgh…

When I get back I figure I still have a little bit of time to explore before catching my bus.  I head to the city center on the far side of the valley, to check out a memorial that looks like the ruins of a Roman temple--  seems a bit out of place here in Edinburgh…

Down below, there’s a huge section of city that I haven’t explored yet. I head down the hill just to get a taste of it. This area of town has a bit more English feel to it with elegant rowhouses where you cross a little bridge directly to the first floor--  the main floor is below ground level, sometimes with a little garden… kind of a different feel to it.

Then it’s time for me to go and leave this beautiful land behind…

…But I will always carry thee in my heart, ye Scotland…
