Satrouville has a unusual church with an almost pagoda style steeple… and then it has a rather gritty urban stretch near the train station where I find  a 40 Euro a night hotel… I guess it could be a back up plan if I get tired of camping…

For not I still feel I need to prove to myself that I can explore Europe on a very tight budget.  So far I’ve been doing very well, surviving on just a couple of Euros a day--   less than what I would spend if I were sitting at home in Morocco… I won’t need to spend my whole trip on a budget this tight, but I think it’ll be pretty cool to prove that I can explore and experience Western Europe no matter what my financial situation be…

Once I reach the main road, I see a magnificent chateau not far away to the west, so of course I have to go check it out… it seems rather out of place in a gritty town like Satrouville.  But as I get close I realize it’s actually on the other side of the river, in the town of Maisons Laffite.

I’ve got a little bit of a dilemma: if I head across the river to check out the chateau, then I’ll need to explore Maisons Laffite properly, not just go and come back… once again getting distracted from my goal finishing “The Penninsula”…

But the chateau proves too much too resist, so I cross the Seine yet another time.
