0381 A Narrow strip along the Seine (Fra 006—revisit)

On day three after two nights of couchsurfing with relatives, I decide that I need to venture out on my own and show that I can fend for myself here in cold, unhospitable Europe.  But I feel I’ve just barely gotten started here in Greater Paris, and I’m just itching to see what other gems these suburbs hide.

So I grab my shoulder bag and guitar and bid Mourad and his family farewell and head out to face to the real world…

I decide to start right where I left off:  in Vesinet.

From there I head west, to the tiny little suburb of Le Pecq. I’ll count it as a “revisit” because I crossed it (in about 30 seconds) on my hike to Versaille in 2005…

Le Pecq is little more than two thin strips on both sides of the Seine, no more than two blocks wide.  It seems like somebody miscalculated when the region was being divided up into towns, and Le Pecq was what was left over.

But it does have the typical little Mairie, a commercial strip and a quiet little park where I can play music… I wander up and down both sides of the river to see if there’s anything more to discover, then head on my way…
