Early morning drive to Arrowtown. Located 20 km from Queenstown, claimed to be the best preserved gold mining town. Itâ€™s Autumn at its best. The whole town glows with colorful foliage. The main street has many old colonial buildings at one end and at the other, tiny minerâ€™s stone cottages.

After lunch at the motel we joined the Nomad Safari tour. Our guide brought us to see some of the major sites where LOTR was filmed.Our advise if you know your bearing, get a good map, guidebook and drive yourself because it is way much cheaper. However with a good guide you will get in depth explanation on the site you visited and some of the film making processing with interesting story behind it. Prepare yourself for an excellent view along the way and having to stop several times to give way to herds of sheep or cows crossing the road
