Today will be one of the highlight of our journey. Climbing the Fox Glacier. The glacier is about 13 km long and very unique because they descend from the snowy alps to rainforest close to the coast. We opted for a Half Day Fox Glacier Walk with ‘Alpine Guide’. We rode on an antique bus to the base. From there we start climbing. What a delightful eco-tour. Stunning vistas and opportunity to marvel at the features of the glacier. Our guide Mark shared with us his knowledge on glaciology and geology. The trip took about 3.5 to 4 hours and they provide boots, socks, crampons and alpenstocks. We had fun putting on the crampons and climbing it does require some fitness level. Saadan who left his shoes at Port Hills gave up halfway. The 4 of us continues our ascend with full determination. The view from up there was breathtakingly beautiful. It was quite challenging and tiring.... but alhamdulillah, we reached the glacier safely and it was worth every single steps!!.
