Woke up early morning as we had a long day today.
Our 1st stop is Hagley Park and Botanic Garden. Hagley Park is a large park in the centre of Christchurch. We were lucky as it was the best time to view the glory of Autumn.
Later we left Christchurch and headed to Fox Glacier via the beautiful nature of Arthur Pass National Park. The scenary throughout the journey was breathtakingly beautiful!! We lost count on how many times we stopped for picture. There are many scenic viewpoints along the route. The Park has a diverse landscape, with forests, snowy peaks and waterfalls. Stopped at Hokitika Beach for lunch and also bought some fresh vegetables from a small farm along the road. You have to make sure to fill up the petrol adequately as there are very limited petrol station along the way. We reached Fox Glacier quite late and mistakenly drove our car into the motel's beautiful lawn... ' Rainforest Motel' (the owner was quite irritated but since we were their customers they tried their best to be nice to us... haha! Quite funny at that time.. :)) Thousand Apologies to Gail and Denice
