Leaving Adelaide

Well today we got up really early! Left home at 5am, picked our daughter up and drove to the airport. Our daughter then took my car home so that she can use it for a few days.

Then it was the usual waiting around for the plane. Not a bad trip to Melbourne. Then waiting again.

This is our first time going to Hobart. Again, not a bad flight. After arriving in Hobart we then went to pick up our hire car. I had ordered a Nissan Tiida (a small 4 cyl car) but they offered us a four wheel drive for the same price, so we were happy.  We started to head for our hotel and didn't do too badly but did take a wrong turn somewhere. Oh well, it was only another 5 minutes. We checked in to the hotel and then decided to find somewhere to have a snack and a coffee. Needless to say we enjoyed driving around and checking out some of the houses. Then it was time to go to the supermarket and pick up a couple of things before heading back to the hotel and contacting Travbuddy Elke (Sunflower300).

Elke came to the hotel a bit later where we had a drink and a chat. It was lovely. Then we went to D'Angelo's for dinner and a couple more drinks.  A lovely night. We will see each other again before leaving.

Affordable
The hotel was built in 1874 and is a magnificantly restored colonial home. It does make for an unusual building. The picture on the website had the … read entire review
