Today was pretty much the worst day fourth of July ever. Last year on this day I was scuba diving the
We started the day with a bus ride that was only supposed to be a half hour but because there was a bicycle festival going for miles it took us close to two hours to get to the town of Cahersiveen. We were told later that there were 2,500 cyclists that participated. There the kiddos learned how to play Gaelic Football. Lori and I walked around the town for a while. Then we had a tour of the town by this horrible tour guide. I truly remember nothing because she was horrible to listen to.
After lunch we went into a hot little sticky room to watch some Irish dancing and listen to some music. That was a highlight of the day. It was after that where the worst of the day commenced. We had to do our community service project which was cutting peat that is used to heat homes for the elderly. We were freezing and soaked standing out in the middle of this peat bog. It was excruciating because the kids all went one at a time. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was so happy to get back to the B&B. We got the kids tickets to the movies and we all went back to the pizza place. We even got a free pizza because the guy didn’t hear Jill’s order correctly. Score!
