When I realized that my school-mate and friend from the high school is running a boarding-house in the mountains and that this weekend there is a hog-killing feast, there was nothing to think about but to come. We went there by car and it were mere two and half hours of pleasant ride. The boarding house is located at the very end of this small village up at the hillside. We were warmly welcomed by our friend and her husband, not to forget about their small daughter. Around the boarding house are a lot of small cabins, but as it was already almost October we got a room in the main building. It was small but cosy, two beds, two armchairs, a table and a wardrobe - you do not need more. The bath is common and located at the beginning of the corridor - two toilets, two basins, two showers - everything clean and nice.
Yes it is a simple equipment, but it is a mountain boarding-house and the price per night/per person is 200 CZK without meals and 330 CZK with breakfast and supper in the double-room. What was amazing were the meals, my friend's husband is the cook and I must say an amazing cook. You can choose whatever you want and it will be definitely delicious.
Orličky is, as I said before, a small village in the Orlické mountains. It is about 4 km long and the highest point is the outlook-tower at Suchý vrch (Dry hill). There is a nice baroque church in the village dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk. Almost every building in the village is a very nice half-timbered house, so typical for this region.
