We've found our place, unfortunately a little late. Casa Felipe; up the hill from Taganga town beach. We came over the night before last with Gali from the trek and met up with Karen, Oran, Will and Karl and instantly relaxed in the courtyard of the hostel. Hammocks and shade, free WiFi, and we've found reasonably priced eats as well. All good. At 40.000 it's 15.000 more than the Miramar, but so worth it. We even got a free beer to welcome us in! If you head this way, you can book in advance; I recommend you do, as this place is jammered. There's a lot of work going on down at the beach front, laying a new road? and cafes? so the place may well be changed when you arrive. We're heading to Bogota this evening on a night bus; they appear to be quite safe these days according to other travellers. 110.000 Santa Marta - Bogota 16hrs on the posh coach!
Had some very nice fish last night after a quick swim in the twilight, and this morning went to the beach and spent the rest of the day in the courtyard chilling and doing this blog. A record for us as much as for you!
