It was almost 5:00 pm so we knew we were not going to make inside the castle museum today. It wasn't too bad since it was so nice out. It would have been a shame to spend it inside a stuffy old castle. ;)
There was plenty to see outside. My favorite was the Red Tower. I would have loved to take a tour inside it. I had to search google to find out its name although it is not very creative. We strolled across the court yard and enjoyed the view for a while. Then we decided to check out a short hiking trail that was leading to the "Sophienhaus".
The park leading to the house was lined with a few statues. Very idyllic. I found out later that there are wedding ceremonies held here. What a nice idea. For more info of the Castle Burgk and the Sophienhaus

I enjoyed my visit here and I think you could spend a whole day exploring the castle, its museum and the surrounding area.
