Arrival in Bangkok!

The flight to Bangkok went fine - even though the plane was full and it didn't leave much room for movement the Austrian flights are spacious and nice and I did manage to sleep for a few hours before we were served breakfast and after breakfast time went really fast....before we knew about it we landed in Bangkok. Passing through imigrations and customs went smoothly and well out on the other side we got into a taxi to take us to the Ramada D'MA in downtown Bangkok.
After a few hours of rest we decided to go to River City to book us into the Wan Fang dinner cruise that I went on the previous year. However the guard in the hotel door recomended that we booked with the tour office in the lobby as the dinner cruises are often booked. That turned out to be a much better deal - as she booked us on the Chao Phraya Princess Cruise for less then what I paid on the Wan Fang last year - and there's really a big diffrence on the two boats.
While Wan Fang is one deck wooden boat, with plate service, and a little entertainment of cultural thai dance, the Princess is a two deck (real boat) cruise ship, with international live music and a huge buffet. They are not to be compared in any way. We had a really good start on our trip and for our first day together in Bangkok. Tomorrow we're going to River Kwai and Death Railway, which I booked from home.
