Riga
Following our 3 day stint in Tallinn, it was time to return to Riga, as we would be flying home from there. We left the bus station that morning and stocked up on water and other bits and pieces in an attempt to use up our last Estonian kroon. The bus journey was much the same as it was on the way to Estonia, with some crazy driving and nice countryside.

It was a little cloudy when we arrived in Riga but the sun was trying it's best to break through. We checked back into Friendly Fun Franks hostel again, as did some of our fellow bus passengers we noticed. Not wanting to linger around the hostel, we headed out for lunch and a bit of sightseeing. We took in the House of the Blackheads and the monument placed in the adjoining square.

The river was close by so we had a little wander along the riverside, where we were surprised to see so many hen nights. Most seemed to be getting on the river boats but many chose just to walk along the river.

For dinner we came across a little authentic restaurant that served up a buffet style Latvian meal. Looking back I think that it was probably the best meal we had on our trip, although I couldn't tell you exactly what we had ate. All I know is that it was delicious. We were well into the evening by the time we left the restaurant and wanted to find a place for a quiet beer or 2. The streets were quite packed by this time and many stag parties were out in force. We didn't get 10 yards down one street before we were approached by a tout who tried to get us in his gentleman's club with a desperate attempt at being funny.

Luckily we got off the beaten track a bit and found a nice little bar for a couple of cold ones before heading back to the hostel and welcome beds.
