The excursion took us past many sights, with the pick of the bunch being the Alexander Nevsky cathedral and Toompea castle. I'd recommend the walking tour as we were led down some nooks of the city that we porbably would have missed otherwise. After the combination of quite a long walk and the sun bearing down on us, we were glad to get some shelter and lunch.
Not wanting to miss out on an opportunity, we headed to the beach in the afternoon to make the most of the sun. Although we only went into the water up to our knees, it was nice to chill out on the beach and catch some rays. We only stayed for a couple of hours as we didn't want to turn pink, and headed back to the hostel to get changed and head out for dinner.
Since we hadn't gone for a proper drink the previous night, we made plans to have quite a few beers tonight. We spent most of the night at an Irish pub called O'malleys, which had on a karaoke night. We had only been there about half an hour or so when a group of 5 rather tipsy local girls crashed in on us and claimed our table as their own. They did let us stay howerver, and we got talking over a few more drinks.
We had a few more drinks together before heading to Club Parlament, where we danced the night away. We lost the girls well before then though, which was probably a good thing as we learned that one of them had a boyfriend who was currently in jail for armed robbery. We thought that the rest of the girls might have kept similar company! The club was pretty good, mainly due to the fact that we were the only tourists there and managed to bop around with the locals without any trouble.
