airport at El Vigia
Monday was leaving day, as I had to prepare for the 3 week trip to Europe with Robert the following Sunday. Strolled over to Carmens about 8:30 am and found all 4 of the employees of the "Maussi" business busy making product. Sally got me some cafe and I sat in the kitchen waiting someone to wake up or come home..... Chisco strolled in and had been at the passport agency for 3 hours. We had cafe and breakfast with Miguel and Michelle, and planned to check out of hotel and go to El Vigio for a 3:00 check in. On the way out of town, we had lunch with Chisco's mom Carmen, Miguel, Michelle, and LaMora (Chisco's business partner). A pleasant surprise was touring the ValleCorp office and shop which Chisco and Mora started 8 years ago, and which is a very successful media and advertising company today. Mora owns and operates it himself as Chisco sold out when he left Venezuela for schooling in the states 4 years ago.
Chisco and Mora took me to Vigia and we waited for the plane in the cafe. By 7:00 I was back in Caracas
, but the scene was much better than Thursday night at midnight with plenty of people on the streets. I cleaned up at the Marriott and had a wonderful steak dinner before spending an hour on the beachside patio listening to waves break and feeling the ocean breeze while sipping SCOTCH !!! I was back in Greensboro, NC by 3:00 pm and Roanoke by 5:00. I picked up Nathan and was REALLY happy with the last 5 days. I cant wait to go back....with both my boys....
