Woke up about noon and waited for Chisco, Vladimir, and Mariangeles to come pick me up. My head was pounding but I was excited to see the countryside. We went straight away to an area of town where the state university was (where Chisco went to dental school) and met 5 of his former dental school friends for lunch. The were drinking a beer that is composed of beer, fruit soda, and a splash of gin. It kinda had a pink color, but was good for the hangover. Had traditional food and alot of conversation before leaving to go up into the LaCulata region of the mountains. Although it was a foggy and cloudy Saturday, the beauty of the Andes mountains is outstanding as can be seen in the pics. We stopped at a couple of restaurants known to be among the best in the state of Merida. We returned after dark, and because the church service was at 10:00 am the next morning, I opted out of going out Saturday night.
