As before, I was to be picked up by Vladimir at 7:00 am for breakfast, but you can guess by now that it didnt happen. In fact, I called Chisco at 9:55 concerned I wouldnt make the 10;00 am baptism. Chisco's youngest brother and Michelle came to pick me up and we arrived about 10:30 for the 10:00 am service! LOL, the funny thing is Vladimir called me about 10:15 saying he was on way to the hotel...imagine that!! I love these guys and their laid back nature!

The baptism was at the family church in the center of town, and was over fairly quickly. I rode with Tata's brother Daniel back to her house where a huge catered party would happen over the next 8 hours. There were about 80 guests attending, with 90% (according to Chisco) being family members. I learned a bit of Spanish, including some "drinking words" that I'll not repeat here. Also learned why Chisco favors scotch. I always found it curious that a latin from the tropics would drink so much scotch over say rum or cerveza. Turns out, they ALL drink scotch. Its more ubiquitous than water. Supposedly, it doesnt allow the hangover! Good information to have. Anyway, met a ton of great people including all of Chisco and Tata's families. I would find out the next day that the "blonde Americano" made quite an impression......with the older ladies! Better than a bad impression I guess!!
