Ahhh married life. We were whisked away by Super Shuttle at 2:45 am for a 6:15 flight. 1st stop on the 3-leg trip to Bangkok: Chicago. And thanks to Jeff's folks' generosity and an interesting glitch in the way American Airlines lets platinum members redeem miles, we're flying first class all the way! And as an added bonus, 1st class includes use of the Admirals Club and... FREE DRINKS! Ain't nothing like a 5am bloody mary! Well, except maybe a 10 am Ketel One martini! Yessss......
Our seats to Chicago were in the fifth row, so we could see all the action pretty well from our wide leather seats that reclined so far we almost felt like we were gonna fall over backwards. And as for the warm wet hand towel, warm nuts, delicious gourmet food, personal airline waitstaff and free alcohol... We hear everyone else around us enjoyed it thoroughly. We slept. What - it was a 6:15am flight dammit!
Now off to Tokyo for another layover. But first we're off to the Japan Airlines Admirals Club for another free drink before our next flight. See ya on the other side of the world!
