Eat Sense is a beachfront restaurant located in Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui, next to the Banana Fan Sea Resort. It primarily serves Thai food, but also has an international menu.We had the Thai menu, and were delighted with our choices. We had the (English names) fish with red curry, kaffir leaves and limes, and the beef with chillis and basil. The food was well presented and prepared, with some nice touches (eg rice came with both white and brown rice layered in a bowl). Service was excellent, and the location lovely -- right on Chaweng Beach, with a nicely fitted out open air dining area, complete with water fountains and large paper lanterns.

Meal for two, including wine, one appetiser, two mains and one desert came to 1,250Bht including tips.

Tongsai Bay Cottages and Resort is a five star resort in Ko Samui, located near Chaeng Moon Beach. It is relatively secluded, with a private beach and large grounds which make it quiet and peaceful (a significant contrast with resorts on the main beaches like Chaweng). It is not cheap, but delivers a very high quality resort experience for its premium price. It has three restaurants, of which the pick, in our view, was the Thai restaurant, Chef Chom's.

Rooms are spacious, and well furnished with elegant four poster beds, balconies with outside spa baths, excellent air conditioning, free fruit baskets, bottled water and jars of cookies. Service is excellent.
