First beers in Iceland ever!

I could only remember that I had tasted Icelandic beer once before coming to Iceland and that was in Stockholm almost a year ago to the day at the great bar of the First Hotel Amaranten. There was then nothing special to the taste besides it was quite okay and the fun of tasting a beer from a country that I had not visited yet.
Now being in Iceland for the first time in my life I had to taste them again in the right habitant. My friend Finn had arrived the day before and was waiting for me in the hotel lounge when I arrived at the Hotel Holt in the centre of Reykjavik. He later told me that he had followed the plane on one of his many apps on the Iphone 4 that he gave himself when he went on pension. I could not help laughing at him; he has gone completely apple!!
The first Icelandic beer I tasted was a Viking which I had on the best fish restaurant I had visited in ages; it was situated just around the corner of the hotel.
When I arrived in the airport the woman working in the car rental said that I was very lucky not to arrive the day before where the weather had been really awful. At that point I had no idea on what she meant by awful weather but the following day I felt cold like I had not done for years or might even ever. My hands went completely white and I could not feel anything with them for 25 minutes before the pain came back while I was visiting the Geysir and I got a complete brain freeze when I visited Gullfors; what a place Iceland is!
