If you are looking for a trendy place in Stockholm and you enjoy Creole and Cajun cuisine then the restaurant Marie Laveau is the perfect place. It is located in a trendy part of town known as Söder, and near the restaurant you can find loads of other restaurants and bars. The entrance to the restaurant is a huge bar area with DJ in the corner. In the bar you can get some light dishes like burgers and salads or just enjoy the wide range of drinks that they serve there. The bar has also a good range of beers and wines and there is a happy hour between 5 and 7 pm.
Well inside the restaurant you walk into a fairly open and kitchen like room. The room is quite bright and full of simple tables and chairs, a dominating feature is the white tile walls. The style is fresh and hit. After looking at the menu that was filled with loads of nice dishes I decided to go for Spicy Louisiana Shrimps as I starter together with Årh Hvad Belgien Pale Ale from the Mikkeller brewery in Denmark. The shrimps were really good but also very greasy, my hand were really greased in oil after having peeled the shrimps. My main dish was a Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, which was very tasty, but less spicy than I had expected. I was quite full after that but still decided to go for their Ice Cream Monster, which turned out to be an ice cream with surprises like marshmallows and other kinds of candy.
