day 1: arrival in Athens and an evening walk
On the 17th of June I took a plane from Belgium to Greece with two friends. In Athens we met the others from the group and our course about heritage management started the same night. We walked to a mountain which provided a nice view over the city.
The next ten days we visited most monuments in Athens, we studied at the Dutch Institute and we had lectures. A lot of fun, but we were so busy that we became so tired. Best remedy: milkshakes!
Highlights of the trip:
- the acropolis, althought almost everything on this mountain is fake. The ottoman and byzantine elements are left out, not mentoined.
- the new acropolis museum, which i visited twice. Should the Parthenon marbles be returned or not?
- kerameikos, a graveyard (my fascination for dead people)

The studios are very comfy, especially if you're in a room for four and only share it with one other person!
The rooms are cleaned every day and breakfast is served in a basket behind the door. And: on the ground floor there is a laundry service.
Don't put your own tea in the studios' tea basket, the cleaners remove it!
In this room I saw the news about Micheal Jackson's death, so I won't forget the place.
