Finally in Chicago

Finally land in Chicago. My bag had arrived on an earlier flight so I grabbed it and went outside to catch the shuttle bus to the rental car company. Another long line, of course. Another 20 minutes in line and finally it was my turn. Sign the contract, get the keys and grab the first available car. I was staying at a hotel near the airport. It was the same Holiday Inn Select that I stayed at the previous September. The hotel was a five minute drive. Perfect for a tired traveler.

I walk into the lobby and see my old roommate waiting for me. He had the fortune of living with me during college. I usually spend a couple of days at his house when I visit Chicago. Not this time. We go up to my room and I opened the door. Awwww, this time I didn't get a room that had a separate living room like my last visit. After a quick shower I was ready for dinner. My other friends arrived and we all headed downstairs for a dinner at Harry Caray's Chophouse. We had a great dinner together. I'll be seeing them again in August. My old roommate is throwing a big party and I'll be flying out for it.
