Pirates of the Caribbean

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AMERICA!!

We got up this morning at 5:00am took our showers and headed up to the front of the resort to catch our bus to the Magic Kingdom.  We arrived just after seven and we where the first in line at the turnstiles. The Mayor of Main Street USA open the park by having everyone countdown from ten. Our first stop was going to be Space Mountain but it was closed for refurbishment. Sooooo we headed in the opposite direction towards the Pirates of the Caribbean.....if you look closely you can see Captain Sparrow. Yo Ho, Yo Ho, the pirate life for me.

Splash Mountain was next with only a 10 minute wait....fantastic!!  They let us ride it twice with out getting back in line.

Splash Mountain
This is one of the best rides in the park...oh you will get wet.   The wildest ride in the west.....Big Thunder Mountain....a nice smooth rollercoaster with lots of curves and dips. Lots of fun.  It was time to have a ghost ride in your doombuggy with you...The Haunted Mansion, one of my favorites.  With streching walls, moving tombstones, fortune teller, knocking doors and floating candlesticks.  We all like this ride.

Our next stop was the Hall Of Presidents. Today was the grand opening featuring President Obama. The whole show has been redone and updated. They included 911 and the space shuttle.  A fantastic show to the American spirit!!

Off to Fantasyland we gooooooooooooo.......

Splash Mountain
.....It's A Small World after all...you can'y help but sing this song thru out the ride.  Peter Pan was a fourty five minute wait..we skiped it and went on to Snow White.  Up to this point we have had no longer than a 10 minute wait on any ride.  By this time it was 10:30 and time for lunch. We headed over to the Starlite Cafe. Your basic lunch foods.  Chicken nuggets, grilled chicken, BBQ ribs and roasted chicken, pizza and hamburgers.

Our next ride was the Disney Speedway.  We each got our own car and drove the track.  Next was the Carousel Of Progress. You sit in a theater that revoles around a the stage. You start of at the turn of the century and end at the present. A nice ride and a chamce to cool off from the heat.  It was so hot everyone was heading into the restaurants and gift shops trying to cool off.

Hall of Presidents

It's back to Adventureland and the Jungle Cruise. The wait time for the ride was fourty five minutes. The air conditioning and cealing fans helped the long wait.  You get to see pythons, elephants, rhinos, lions, zebra, giraffe, tigers, crocodiles, hippos, and cobras...all of course are robotics. It's just a neat ride to go on.

By this time it was two o'clock and the heat had wiped us all out.  We hoped back on the bus and back to the hotel. The room was so cold it felt great. We changed into our swim suits and to the pool we went.  SPLASH......the water was nice and cool. We hung out there for about an hour and headed back to the room. We are heading back out again around 6:30 to ride some more rides and see the Fourth of July fireworks spectacular, it starts at 9:00pm.

Snow White's Scary Adventures
We will get our seat on the curb in front of the castle at 8:00pm. That is one of the best spots to watch the fireworks. The park stays open until 1:00am, that gives us plenty of time to ride even more rides...woo hoo!!

We got back into the park around 7:00pm. The crowds had eased up and the tempature too. We found a restaurant in Fantasyland that served pizza. We climbed Swiss Family Robinson's Tree House and by then it was time to find a spot to watch the fireworks.  We placed ourselfs on the bridge to Tomorrowland. We waited an hour and it was worth it. The fireworks were going off all around the castle.  After the show and a majority of the masses left the park we headed into Tomorrowland and rode Stich the ride.  Very cute, great for the kids. Next was Disney's Philharmajic 3D. Very good with Donald Duck as your host.  And the last ride of the evening was Pirates of the Caribbean. Had to ride it one more time.  We stopped on Main Street looking the gift shops for anything Mary Poppins for my sister but could not find anything new for her.  By this time our feets were aching and we were simply exhausted. We hoped on our bus and back to our hotel we went.  I hoped in the shower and hit the bed. Whew a long but fun day with Mr. Disney.
