The Danube Bend

This was my first trip to Europe and it was amazing. Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities i've ever visited. From morning to night, the beauty never stopped. I especially loved the outdoor cafes and the bridges that connect the two sides of the city. I will definitely be going back.

The Danube Bend

About 30 - 45 minutes outside of Budapest lies the quaint little town of Szentendre which is a well known artists' colony. It runs right along the Danube and is an area full of galleries of various kinds of arts. Walking along the cobble stone streets, there are dozens of studios that have wonderful works. There are galleries full of paintings, sculpture and textiles. The shops also have lots of Hungarian goods and souvenirs. This is a nice side trip to walk around, have a coffee or an ice cream and peruse the shops. We only stayed for about an hour, just enough time to get a good feel of the place. I'm glad we stopped as it was nice to see the artwork.
