This was my first trip to Europe and it was amazing. Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities i've ever visited. From morning to night, the beauty never stopped. I especially loved the outdoor cafes and the bridges that connect the two sides of the city. I will definitely be going back.

Still trying to recover from jetlag, the long flight from Los Angeles and the time change, we decided to sleep in and take it easy today. We had a traditional home made breakfast of cold cut Hungarian sausage, cut cheeses, fresh tomatoes and fresh bread. Along with juices and some super strong coffee, we were set. We spent most of the day visiting with family and friends.

After dinner, we decided to explore Franz Liszt Square. This is a cool little area with outdoor and indoor cafes, restaurants and bars. The street is closed off to through traffic and is filled with tables and foliage. It's quite an amazing site. There are people everywhere and the cafes are are packed. Even though it was cold outside, the cafes had the outdoor heaters on full blast and even blankets to keep the patrons warm.

We decided to hang out at Cafe Karma. We chose this location because they had great music with a guitar player accompanying it. The atmosphere was totally chill and the DJ was spinning some soulful house. Perfect. So we sat for a few hours enjoying the music, talking to some people and having plenty of drinks.

Budapest has a zero tolerance to drinking and driving. Since we drove, one of had to stay sober, so cappuccino for him. We stayed until the cafe was closed and walked back through the square and to the car. I really enjoyed this area and we revisited 6 or 7 times during our stay in Budapest. We were going to leave for our first road trip in Europe in the morning so we called it a night. Off to Vienna in the morning.
