Beer and cool houses
July 13, 2009
We went to Esslingen today to look at old German houses, and the castle. It was very nice, but very hot, and way too humid. The sweat was running down my back just climbing a few stairs, not to mention climbing the steep hill up to the castle. Luckily they had beer on the top :D
I had a very nice Weissbier, not too sweet, but still fruity enough to make it the perfect refreshment in the heat. We also had a few drops of rain while we sat there, but nowhere near enough to make the humidity any less stifling.
My german is also getting better by the hour, now I can follow some conversations here and there, but I'm still not competent enough to utter more than a single word if I have to. Which I don't, of course, since they do understand English ;)
