Ok, At day nine we had a relaxing day again so that's nothing special.
But at day Ten we went to Kennedy Space Center!!!
We were looking forward to this day and now it finally was time to go there! We first had breakfast at Denny's and an hour later we were at Kennedy Space Center. We had ticket's already but had to exchange them for other tickets, so we still had to stand in line at the entrance pfff!! Later it turned out that the bus tours are not in the price because you can choose between several tours and they have different prices!! But anyway, we went to the information central hal were you can get good information about the center. We got the time schedule of that day of the several attractions and we went straight to the shuttle launch experience because we heard that the lines are generally shorter early in the day.
Then we made pictures of the shuttle explorer etc and went to the launch status center. Next thing we wanted to see was the film "Space Station 3D" in the IMAX theater which was great!! Then it was time for lunch so we went to the Orbit Café where we bought chickenwraps and juice, it was a nice lunch.
Then it was already time to go to the busses for the NASA Up-Close tour which was guided by Bill, a wonderful man who is not only working here but also really loved telling people about his great passion!! It was a great tour!!! I can really recommend it!!! We saw so many things like: The NASA headquarters, the operations and checkout buildings, the international space station center, the NASA Causeway, the space station processing facilty, the launch control center, the vehicle assembly building, the shuttle landing facility, the Apollo/Saturn V Center and the LC-39A and LC-39B launch complex!!
When we got back at the visitors complex we saw another IMAX film "Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D" which was also a great film.
They say that the signature is worth 300 dollars, Well, I don't know if that's true but it's a nice thought!
Anyway, At last we went to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame which has the largest collection of personal astronaut memorabilia ever assembled! The G-force trainer (simulator) is a great experience! It's real nice to explore it all.
So, after eating pizza in the Pizzahut on the 192, we finally went home! We were so tired!!! But we decided to stay up a little longer and take a nightcap. And while Wim enjoyed his beers and I enjoyed my Cuba Libre's we talked about this great day which we never forget and the hours passed away!! It was really an awesome day!!!
P.S. The following morning wasn't that nice, if you know what I mean...lol
