Ok, so I leave in a couple of days and I'm all packed up. After doing my homework, I managed to end up with a 17-pound backpack -I couldn't believe it so I weighed my pack twice and had the same result. I think after I add a book, snacks and trail mix nuts, it'll go up to 18 pounds. I'm not taking my gloves or beanie with me 'cause I'll buy those in Cuzco, Peru and I'll also be wearing/carrying my fleece jacket, t-shirt, cap, shoes, watch, etc. But I was really surprised as I was aiming for at least 22 pounds.
