US National Archives
April 20, 2008
i'm a history buff so the national archives was a another MUST see on my trip to DC. you'll have a different experience depending on when you go. i was there april 20 and was greeted with a long line. 40 minutes in the rain just to get to security screening. the museum put out a bunch of umbrellas to use. there is airport type security screening (minus taking off shoes).
the national archives is jam packed full of documents. pretty much any event of significance thats happened in the US is documented in some way. of course the declaration of independence, bill of rights and constitution are there. but rosa park's arrest record is there. letters from george washington and abe lincoln are there. just lots of information.
the guards mentioned it 100 times and people still didnt listen. flash photography is not allowed in the rotunda. i saw a couple people get escorted out. also people were lined up to get into the rotunda. this is just to limit the number of people near the documents at one time. once inside (the rotunda) there is no particular order you have to view things.

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
April 20, 2008
When I was in DC visiting the LEO memorial was a must for me. Some of my online friends dont know that I used to be a police officer. Lots of times give or take a few foot or few minutes and my name would've been on that wall. I know and know of people whose names are on that wall. This is why the memorial has extra special meaning to me.
