Why oh why did I stop here
June 8, 2009
After enjoying a bit of nature and knowing that I needed to head back to AZ before it gets TOO late, I drove south towards El Paso. Since this is the only real town anywhere around, I would fuel up and find some dinner before hitting the road for home.
Upon getting to El Paso, I started seeing signs for a place called Little Diner. They remarked everything from "A Must Stop along the Chile Trail" to " Best Mexican This Side of the Border". Since I do love good Mexican food, I quickly decided that Canutillo wasn't really far out of the way and I would head here for dinner.
Big mistake.

Canutillo Tortilla Factory & Lit…
Little Diner and Tortilla Factory
YUCK!!! This is a place to avoid.
Coming from the southwest, I love good Mexican food. This however is not the place to go if you are looking for that.
The service was poor, the food was gross and the cheese enchilada so spicy I couldn't even eat it- and I eat quite a variety of spicy food! The guacamole probably the worst I have ever had. I really thought it was tough to screw up Mexican food, but this restaurant has mastered the art.
This place is advertised all over El Paso as "the best Mexican food" and "A Must Stop Along the Chile Trail". Don't make the same mistake I did by stopping.
