Khmer Rouge museum, with real victims skulls
Most of my two weeks in Cambodia were spent working in Phnom Penh
, The capitol of Cambodia. Even though the city was pretty dirty and third world, I was in heaven. The people were nice(almost painfully nice). I stayed at the Hotel Cambodiana, which was a very nice hotel right on the river front. The hotel is located literally right where the Mekong river and the Tonle Sap river meet and form an "X". Every year the Mekong River forces the Tonle Sap to reverse its direction and flow upstream. There is a huge festival every year celebrating this event. Waking up to the sunrise over the "X" every morning was down right spiritual. The parks where locals chilled out every day. One to the left of the hotel and the other, right across the street. I checked out the russian market which was much larger than it appeared to be. I had a tuk tuk show me the city. I walked around by myself aimlessly and ended up getting lost, which was awesome. I went to the actual killing fields and learned about the Khmer Rouge. The locals were verye chilled out and enjoyed life everyday like it was the weekend. I also got a chance to study up on Bhuddhism, which explained why everyone was so, so chilled out and nice. I also got a chance to take a day trip up north to Angkor Wat. I really miss Cambodia, so far It's been my favorite place.
