Vee, who is alway railing against people using their cell phone in the car, taking a pic of The Guys.

Hey, pabear, we made it to the Badlands this time around!

The Badlands - one word AWESOME.  This is one of those places where ordinary photos cannot begin to show all the beauty.

Counterpoint to Super Dave's comments:

Personally, in addition to the natural wonder all around I enjoyed the well maintained roads and restrooms.  These amenities cost money.  I like that I can choose to pay a voluntary tax (entrance fee) to enhance my visit.  Wouldn't it be great if we had the option of choosing which government services we would like to support when we filed our income tax returns?

On a lighter side:  When you pay to park at Mount Rushmore the ticket is good for the entire calendar year.  So, when I discovered we would be stopping on our way back I started to look for the entry ticket from a couple of weeks ago.    Well what I thought was the ticket was actually the parking receipt from Annapolis.  The search continued... I found a flyer for Camden Yard tours, a tag from when we stored our luggage in Baltimore, my US Capital tour ticket, my receipt from our visit to the Colonial National Park, a Spam museum flyer, our Badland tickets, a Duck tour receipt, a USA today from days ago, multiple hotel receipts but no Mount Rushmore receipt.  Oh well, time to support the parks again..........
