It’s our first full day here in beautiful sunny Ocean City Maryland, and as you can see from the pictures, the torrential rains and very strong winds don’t quite resemble the photos in he brochure. Before the rains picked back up this morning, Super Dave and the Grey Ghost were able to get in a little ride and lunch. But after lunch, the weather broke out with a vengeance. That’s ok because Vee and Tess arrived later in the afternoon in their car … which has a roof! The 4-of us drove around the rest of the afternoon and into the evening where we stopped for a nice dinner at a small town in Delaware called Lewes.
Lewes was founded in 1631, and is the first town to be founded in Delaware. Because Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution, Lewes likes to refer to itself as “the first town in the first state“. Dinner was good, and the drive along the coast was fun being we were all together in a car with a roof to protect us from the pouring rain and howling winds.
Since this bad weather is suppose to last until Saturday, we decided to stay here in beautiful sunny Ocean City Maryland one more day. Notice the photo of the sign at the end of highway 50 that shows Sacramento California 3073 miles away. That is the sign that we saw several years ago that planted the seed for this adventure.
