Wilmington NC
That evening, it was time to go back to I-40 and finish off what little was left. It was night time, the last hundred miles to Wilmington. At the end, the freeway turns into a four lane highway and ends with a yellow diamond that says End Freeway. It was over. I drove the entire length of Interstate 40. No band waiting, no trophy, no fireworks, no free oil change, not even somebody on the side of the road saying 'haha now you have to do it all over again next year!' If anything should come out of it, a Nissan commercial advertising my 12 year old car with 200,000 miles that went the distance in four days during a heat wave with no problems. Can't say that about my camera. So how do you thank a car for going that far without incident? Luckily, there's a topless car wash in Greensboro, which should be adequate payment for my car. If you take care of your car, it will take care of you.
And so ends my trip across Interstate 40
