Arrived at Mumbai from Dubai, i was really tired after a long trip from Dar es Salaam, Capital of Tanzania. Went directly to my hotel in the Bandra neighborhood. The city is simple immense... Also poverty and luxury... All together in this strange and powerful controllable chaos. i visited first the famous Marine Drive where a lot of nice hotels are. I did a lovely walk around the "Queen Necklace". (a nick name for this avenue), and return to my hotel on a taxi... i took two hours to got there. What a traffic Jam!! The following days i visited the Calaba district and also took a boat to the UNESCO heritage site: The Elephanta Caves... It is really a masterpiece from the 4th and 5th century AD. Tried to visit a Bollywood studio but i couldn't because i had to make and an appointment first with an Indian producer. Also visited the Mumbai museum of modern art and the Prince of Wales museum which i loved deeply. The Victoria Train Station, also an UNESCO heritage site, is magnificent on Neo Gothic style. The Mumbai University and the High Court also in this style are well preserved and wonderfully landscaped. I had a great dinner at a vegetarian restaurant listening to Goan Music. My next stop in the subcontinent...
